This is the Story of Monty Wells

Monty Wells A self-taught guitarist, Monty's musical journey began in 2001. Three days after his 18th birthday, Monty was diagnosed with testicular cancer. While undergoing treatment, he spent the next months bedridden and in constant pain. It was during this time that Monty's musical abilities emerged.

One day, after radiation therapy, Monty picked up an old classical guitar and started strumming. He soon realized that the vibrations from the body of the guitar soothed the stomach pain caused by his ongoing treatment. Monty began playing everyday and eventually wrote his first song.

Monty has made Amazing strides over the years. Along with sharing the stage with various tops acts from the United States and Europe including: Do, Will Anderson (of Parachute), and Matt Friction (of The Pink Spiders), Monty was selected for spot dates on the Rockstar Energy Drink Throw-down Summer Tour. He has also worked with a number of industry professionals including: Martin Garrix, Anton Malberg (Dada Life), Niklas Jarl (WestLife, Jedward), The Future Presidents (Justin Timberlake, Yes-R, Main Street), Andrew Goldstein (Ne-Yo, Celine Dion, and Jason Derulo), and Peter Luts.

"Favorite Thing", a song co-written and performed by Monty and DJ Licious, landed on Belgium's UltraTop Charts at number 47; peaking at 10 on the Dance Charts. The song also peaked at number 17 on the Belgian iTunes Top Songs Chart (number 5 on the Top Dance Songs Chart). Monty was also a featured vocalist on the Peter Luts side project, Monotronic. Their song, "I Hate That I Love You", debuted in the world famous DMC Magazine; appearing at number 23 in the Miami Buzz Charts. In the summer of 2014, Monty rose to the top of the Dutch iTunes Dance Charts, appearing at number 1, with his song, "House of Cards". Most recently, Monty co-wrote the title track for Jim Bakkum's "Schouder" EP, which debuted at #2 on the Dutch iTunes Top Albums.
